Okay, I guess you're right...

I do look like her.
Separated at birth.
Spitting image.
Freaky.

Yeah, right.

Youngest

Two cuties, huh?

Tia is the youngest of the "adult" cousins and Caleb is the youngest of the current crop of cousins. I had the chance to snap these pictures at Tom and Sherry's yesterday. Boy, did Caleb take to Tia! Possibly his new best friend -- next to his mom and dad, that is!

Tia is getting married in 4 weeks and Caleb will be there to witness the big event. Can't wait.

Memorial Day

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty".
--John F. Kennedy
Inaugural Address
Washington, D.C.
January 20, 1961

"The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike, and yet notwithstanding, go out to meet it".
--Thucydides
Ancient Greek historian and author
460-404BC

"Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened".
--Billy Graham

"I’m proud to be an American
where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt
I love this land
God bless the U.S.A".
--Lee Greenwood

A little quiz for fun

What year do you belong in? Go here and find out. Quiz
Leave a comment so we can all learn a little bit more about you! ;)

(I belong in 1967 -- which sounds about right, except for the drugs part. Never did drugs or even smoked. Totally not a hippy! Well, now I'm hippy ...)

Come join us...

Sean, Lisha and I are going to the Hampton Bays Theatre tomorrow to see "Over the Hedge". After the movie we plan to check out the new Friendly's. Since it's supposed to be raining tomorrow morning, we thought we would go to the first show. It would be fun if you all could join us! Let's meet at the theatre/Dunkin' Donuts at 11:30AM. As Matthew would say, "be there or be square!" Let's see if we can get all the cousins -- big and little -- there.

(If you can't make it to the movies, maybe you could join us at Friendly's afterward. Or if you can't stay for Friendly's, come to the movies anyway. You get the idea..!)

Enjoying the water

Some pictures I took a few weeks ago at Amy and John's of Sean and Lisha playing with the kids in the pool. They sure had a good time!

First visit to the beach

Yesterday was a beautiful day -- perfect for Caleb's first look at the ocean. It was warm enough to take off his socks and let him wiggle his toes in the sand. He really seemed to enjoy himself.

But, not as much as his mom did...

Happy Birthday to my PIC!

We became sisters-in-law in 1968 when she married David's brother, and we've been sisters ever since. The most loving and fun loving person you'll ever meet, Sherry is always there for me. She's understanding, supportive, down to earth and beautiful. We have practically grown up together -- since we were both teenage brides! She is my sister and I love her -- always.

Sitting on the dock of the bay...

Lisha and Phoebe decided to go fishing today, so off they went to the dock near our house. The dock was fairly narrow and a bit shaky, but the girls managed to have a good time trying to get everything set up. Even though Phoebe was naming the bait and catching jellyfish off the little floating dock nearby, I think they both had fun. Next time, if the tide is coming in instead of out, they may even manage to catch something!

Two beauties

I didn't have access to these photos on Mother's Day, but I definitely wanted to pay tribute to these two very special women -- my mother and my mother-in-law. Amazing women, very different and each with their own special qualities, but they both loved their families more than anything. They are truly loved and missed.

No trick photography here...

Just 5 months old and this little rugrat is already sitting up on his own. And he doesn't use his hands for support either. Of course, he still can slowly topple over without warning...
